Mr. Patrick's Story
At 89 years old, Mr. Patrick Simon Eba, a skilled carpenter, has spent a lifetime perfecting his craft. Among his many creations, he particularly loved making wooden piggy banks—simple yet meaningful objects that symbolize the value of saving and planning for the future. Despite his age, “Papa,” as he’s affectionately known, continues to work with his hands, finding purpose in every piece of wood he shapes.
When we first met Papa last year, we were moved by his dedication and spirit. To support him, RebuildXAfrica provided him with 250,000 Naira, a gesture of appreciation for his hard work and resilience. But that was just the beginning.
Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our donors, we were able to do even more for Papa.
On our final visit, we presented him with a sum of N1,105,000—a life-changing amount for someone who has spent his life giving so much to others. But our support didn’t stop there. We took Papa shopping, gave him a fresh haircut, treated him to a spa facial, and provided scaling and polishing treatment for his teeth. These small acts of care were our way of honoring a man who has given so much of himself to his craft and his community.

Your kindness and generosity have truly made a huge impact on Papa’s life. With a grateful heart, he promised to continue making more saving boxes, not just as a way to keep himself busy, but as a way to inspire others to save and build their futures, just as he has.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support has brought joy and dignity to Mr. Patrick Simon Eba, allowing him to continue his work and share his wisdom with the next generation.
Together, we are making a lasting difference, one story at a time.
