Aminat's Story
Meet Aminat Ajoke Ajikobi, a 300-level Biology Education student at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). Despite the challenging conditions she faces living in the slum, Aminat’s determination to succeed remains unshaken. To make ends meet, she has taken on the responsibility of privately teaching children in her community, using her passion for education to make a difference in their lives.
Aminat’s resilience is nothing short of inspiring. When we first met her, it was clear that she was someone who deserved our full support. RebuildXAfrica initially provided her with 50,000 Naira (about $31) to help with her immediate needs, and we made a promise to stand by her on her journey to a brighter future.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors from around the world, we were able to deliver on that promise. On the 26th of June, we proudly presented Aminat with a cheque for 10,200,000 Naira (about $6215). After receiving consent from the University of Lagos, Aminat was able to receive these funds directly, marking a significant turning point in her life. Yesterday, we completed the transfer and captured the emotional moment on video, a testament to what can be achieved when people come together to support a worthy cause.
